How to play
- Hit Space, click the pad or tap it. One press, one point, to begin with.
- When the first shop item stops being greyed out, buy it. A second finger adds to every press; a rubber band presses by itself half a second at a time.
- Keep alternating: things that make your presses worth more, things that press without you. Prices go up 12 to 15 percent per copy, so the tenth cat costs a lot more than the first.
- At a million points all time, the Prestige button wakes up. It wipes the shop and the score, keeps achievements, and pays a golden key: +10% to everything, forever. Keys come faster the further you get, so the second run is quicker than the first.
Things I decided on purpose
- Holding Space does nothing. Key repeat is ignored, the same as on every test here. A wedge under the spacebar gets you a rubber band's worth of points, and the rubber band costs 60.
- Offline earnings are half rate, eight hours max. Enough that coming back the next morning is a nice surprise, not enough that leaving is the best strategy.
- No shop item costs real money and there is nothing to watch. The quantum spacebar is 60 million points and you'll earn it.
- The save is a text code. Export puts it on your clipboard, Import takes it back. That's how you move a game from the school computer to the one at home, and it's your backup if the browser wipes site data.
- Everything runs in the page. No downloads, no extensions, nothing loaded from another site, so it works wherever this page opens.
Presses by hand still count
Late in a run the machines produce thousands of points a second and your own presses look pointless. They aren't: the per-press upgrades scale with the same golden keys, and the achievements for bursts (10 and 15 presses in a second) are hand-only. The stats box tracks your best second, which is the same measurement as the peak on the spacebar counter. If you want to know whether you actually got faster after an hour of this, that's where to check.
Answers
The score stopped going up while the tab was in the background. Browsers slow down hidden tabs, so the ticker runs late. Nothing is lost: on your next visit the time away is paid out as offline earnings.
Can I get achievements after prestige? Yes, they persist through prestige; only a full Reset clears them.
Does it work on a phone? Yes, tap the pad. The shop sits under the pad on narrow screens.
